Brisbane fans whining “Those were the days, my friends”

Brisbane Roar missed its chance to take lead after taking a draw 1-1 against Adelaide United last Sunday at Suncorp Stadium.

Compare against its last victory 7-1 when the two teams met, Brisbane fans had a good (but sad) reason to whine about the wind of change, according to The Australian (March 12, 2012).

Considering together with its most recent failure against Tokyo FC at home stadium, Roar seemed to slip further away from its dream on the A-League.

Right from the beginning Adelaide team brought a surprise when Ramsay, after what seemed like a beautiful cooperation with Dario Vidosic, drew the first goal for the visitor.

Shortly afterward, the Brisbane team received another bad news when its midfielder Luke Brattan fell for a serious knee injury after a big clash with one player from Adelaide.

Lack of determination and momentum make the whole team’s search for way toward Adelaide’s goal much more difficult despite the visitor’s down performance.

Fans became more and more impatient, especially after Thomas Broich had missed several good opportunities to balance.

In the 70th minute, Besart Berisha cancelled out the uneven scenario thanks to the construction of Kofi Danning.

Despite of missing a chance to reclaim the lead, coach Ange Postecoglou did not feel the pressure when he tried to disentangle for his students “You can easily get frustrated but I thought the boys waited for their opportunities” (The Roar, 2012). Sorry Ange, you are not waiting for an opportunity while dealing with a lower-hand opponent. How many more opportunities are we going to miss?
