United Arab
Emirates national soccer team, found in 1971, is the pride of every UAE
citizen. Led by Coach Bernhard Blaut, the team successfully joined the 1990
World Cup in Italy for the first time in its history. In 2007, the UAE team,
under the smart leadership of Bruno Metsu, defeat its neighborhood Oman to
become the Champion of the Gulf Cup.
However, since
then the team has had difficulty getting back its fire, especially in the World
Cup 2014 Qualifier. Having lost 5 important matches in the campaign, it has
virtually become impossible for the team to obtain a ticket to Brazil.
Coach Abdullah
